Luke Skywalker bought his X-34 Landspeeder from Jabba the Hutt. This was a civilian model speeder that had no mounts for weapons and sped along about 10 cm above the planet's surface. Luke sold his Landspeeder in order to pay Han Solo's fee to fly Luke and Ben Kenobi off the planet of Tatooine. The LEGO 8092 Luke's Landspeeder set contains 163 pieces. The LEGO Landspeeder seats two minifigures and has a hidden compartment in the rear where you can store Luke's lightsaber.

There are six minifigures included in the LEGO Landspeeder 8092 set. They are Luke Skywalker, Ben Kenobi, R2-D2, C-3PO, a sandtrooper, and a security droid. The security droid minifigure is exclusive to the LEGO 8092 Luke's Landspeeder set. This type of droid was used as a spy by the Empire. The sandtrooper that is included in the LEGO 8092 Landspeeder set is the black pauldron variation, which does not appear in any other LEGO sets. The other LEGO minifigures included in the Star Wars Landspeeder set are all available in other LEGO Star Wars sets.

The version of Luke Skywalker minifigure that comes with the 8092 LEGO Landspeeder set is the Tatooine version with longer hair. This version is also included in the 10179 Ultimate Collector's Millenium Falcon set and the 10188 Death Star set. Both of these were large, expensive sets that appealed mainly to collectors. The Death Star set was released in 2008 and sold for $399.99. The Millennium Falcon set came out in 2007 and was sold for $499.99.

Obi-Wan Kenobi was known as Ben Kenobi while he was in exile. The flesh Ben Kenobi minifigure that comes with the 8092 LEGO Landspeeder set is also included in the 10179 Millenium Falcon set and the 10188 Death Star LEGO set. The R2-D2 minifigure variation that is included with the LEGO 8092 Luke's Landspeeder set is the one with the gray head. This version also appears in the LEGO 10188 Death Star set and the 8038 The Battle of Endor set. The C-3PO minifigure is the new, darker gold-colored design, which also appears in the 10188 LEGO Death Star set.

With a retail price of just $24.99, the LEGO 8092 Landspeeder set makes the perfect gift for any child who loves Star Wars and LEGO blocks. You can get the little Star Wars fan on your list a gift that will absolutely thrill him without overextending your gift budget.
