Imperial Officer

No LEGO Star Wars set can be complete without an Imperial Officer mini figure. Anyone familiar with the Star Wars universe will know that Imperial Officers were important figures when it came to the Imperial Army. The officers were members of Imperial Intelligence, who were responsible for monitoring any signs of Rebel activity. The LEGO Star Wars Imperial Officer mini figures wear either black or gray uniforms and may or may not be armed with a blaster.

The Star Wars LEGO phenomena has rocked the world since the LEGO company first teamed up with LucasFilms in 1999, in order to release LEGO figures inspired by the first new Star Wars movie in over 16 years, Star Wars, Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. Since then they have released LEGO sets that have spanned the entire movie series. In fact, there are literally LEGO Star Wars mini figures of any and every Star Wars character you can possibly think of. So why choose an Imperial Officer mini figure when trying to pick out pieces for your collection? No Star Wars collection can be complete without an Imperial Officer- or two, or three. Anyone trying to recreate a scene from the Death Star featured in the Star Wars movies will need at least a handful of Imperial Officer LEGO mini figures in order to successfully do so.

Fortunately there are many LEGO Star Wars sets in which the Imperial Officer mini figure has been included. The Imperial Officer mini figure first appeared in the LEGO SW set 7201 Final Duel II, released in 2002. This set included the mini figure of Luke Skywalker, a Stormtrooper and the Imperial Officer. The Imperial Officer figure made his next appearance in 2005, in the SW LEGO set 7264 Imperial Inspection, which included Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, four Stormtroopers, two Royal Guards and two Imperial Officers.

The character’s next appearance was in 2006, in the LEGO set 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer, which included Grand Moff Tarkin, two Stormtroopers, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine (in Hologram form), two Royal Guards, an Imperial Officer, R2-D5 and a Mouse Droid. The character didn’t make another appearance until the year 2008, when it was featured in LEGO Star Wars set 10188 Death Star, which retailed for $399.99, and included the characters Darth Vader, Obi-Wan, Princess Leia, Han Solo (disguised as Stormtrooper,) three versions of Luke Skywalker, (one as farmer boy and one disguised as a Stormtrooper, and one as Jedi Knight,) several Stormtroopers, Palpatine, Grand Moff Tarkin, Death Star Officers (Imperial Officers,) MSE Droid, C-3P0, IG-88, Chewbacca, RA 7, R2-D5, and IT-O. In 2010 the Imperial Officer figure was included in set 8084, Snowtrooper Battle Pack, which also included two Snowtroopers, an AT-AT Driver, and one Imperial Officer.

This set is conjoined to fit with set 8083 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack. The Imperial Officer may just seem like a common character, but he is considered important enough to be included in so many different LEGO Star Wars sets. No collection could be complete without him.
