Count Dooku

LEGO Count Dooku

As a child, Count Dooku was apprenticed to Thame Cerulian to become a Jedi Master. He served as a Jedi for almost seventy years before he became influenced by Senator Palpatine, also known as Darth Sidious, and left the Jedi Order. After turning to the dark side, Dooku became a Dark Lord of the Sith and became known as Darth Tyranus. Tyranus served as Darth Sidious's second apprentice after Darth Maul was killed.

The LEGO Count Dooku minifigure has appeared in two LEGO sets, two LEGO Star Wars video games, and the 852555 magnet set, which also included a Yoda minifigure and a Mace Windu minifig. There are only two variations of the Count Dooku LEGO minifure: the original version and the Clone Wars version. The original version had a yellow head and hands, and the Clone Wars version has a fleshtone head and hands, so they are very easy to tell apart. Both Star Wars LEGO Count Dooku minifigures come with a red lightsaber that has a curved silver hilt.

The original LEGO Star Wars Count Dooku minifig appeared only in the 7103 Jedi Duel set. This set also has a Yoda minifigure. The Jedi Duel LEGO set includes Count Dooku's speeder bike, which is gray and sand blue in color with black handlebars. There is also a rotating beam object included in the set.

The 7752 LEGO Count Dooku's Solar Sailer set includes the Clone Wars version of the Count Dooku LEGO Star Wars minifigure. The other minifigures included are an FA-4 droid and two MagnaGuard minifigures. Count Dooku's speeder, which is included in the set, has nacelles that open up to make the ship look like it has spikes in the back. The speeder is mostly gray and brown and the LEGO Count Dooku mini figure fits comfortably in the cockpit.

Count Dooku was born into a wealthy family, and returned to claim his fortune after turning to the dark side of the force. He was able to use his money and influence to organize the Separatist movement that would eventually become known as the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Dooku, known by now as Darth Tyranus, was defeated in battle by the Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker. Darth Tyranus's own Sith Master, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, prodded Anakin Skywalker into executing Tyranus after he had already been beaten, bringing Skywalker, who would later become Darth Vader, a step closer to the dark side.
