Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the third book in the series, ramps up the action! Sirius Black has broken out of prison, Harry has run away from the Dursleys and the term hasn’t even begun yet! But once at Hogwarts, there isn’t much time to relax. Classes start the first day back. Hagrid has become the Care of Magical Creatures professor and Hippogriffs are the first creatures that he’s decided to show the class.
Harry volunteers to be first up, bowing to Buckbeak and getting to fly around on his back. Not everyone is so careful though. Deliberately ignoring Hagrid’s instructions, Draco insulted the naturally proud creature. When Buckbeak lashed out Draco whined to his father, getting Buckbeak in loads of trouble.
Released in 2004 to coincide with the release of the epic third movie, the LEGO 4750 allows you to recreate scenes and relive the adventures of Harry and his friends. While this set might not have Harry or his friends, it does allow you to recreate the scene where Draco Malfoy gets hurt. The set contains Draco Malfoy, a small garden area and the Hippogriff Buckbeak. Sadly, this set does not contain Hagrid or the rest of the LEGO Mini figures in the class, which would have made the set much more fun. The set does contain the biting book that Hagrid assigned them for the class, The Monster Book of Monsters!
The garden consists of a small pile of rocks and a little tree. The tree is about a head taller than your average minifigure, but still has enough branches to provide shade for a few people. At the base of a tree rests a pumpkin, an orange minifigure head, one of Buckbeak’s favorite things in life. The pile of rocks has a hidden compartment containing a spider tile, a feather, all under a fence tile.
One of only two sets that the Buckbeak figure appears in, the second being 4753 Sirius Black's Escape. The figure mates the typical horse body with wings and the head of an eagle. There is enough space on the Hippogriff’s back for a minifigure to ride. A tan owl piece is also included, for Malfoy to send a letter complaining to his father after he gets hit. Speaking of Draco Malfoy, he is wearing his school uniform and a Slytherin colored tie. Wearing a smug and skeptical look, blond hair and a black cape, he looks exactly like he does in the movies.
The small set, only 36 pieces, this is an ideal set for very young builders. Recommended for ages 6 to 10 by the LEGO Company, this is a great starter set and is also perfect for parents to work on with young builders. For most builders, this set will take less than a half an hour to complete. What will happen to Draco Malfoy, will Buckbeak just rough him up or do some real damage? What will happen to Buckbeak? Will he be sentenced to death? Only you can decide!
