The LEGO Star Wars 8091 Republic Swamp Speeder set contains the Swamp Speeder vehicle and five LEGO Star Wars minifigures. The minifigures are Jedi Knight Barriss Offee, one Phase II Clone Trooper (the newer design), two Battle Droids and one Super Battle Droid. Released on January 4, 2010 as part of the LEGO Episode III Revenge of the Sith collection, this set features a redesign of the Clone Trooper vehicle from the 7260 Episode III Wookiee Catamaran set developed in 2005, with more realistic looking laser cannons and larger engines.

While the vehicle itself is quite small, seating only two LEGO mini figures with standing room for two to four more, it does have hidden wheels that appear to make it hover. These wheels can pivot, allowing the 5” by 5” vehicle to move easily in any direction. The four flick-firing blasters, pilot blast shields and the realistic rotating engine make this one formidable war machine.

This vehicle is also known as the Infantry Support Platform; the Swamp Speeder is a repulsorlift vehicle heavily used by the Grand Army of the Republic on swamp worlds. While gigantic wheeled or legged vehicles might have a problem traversing swamps or dealing with tight spaces, the Swamp Speeder’s tight design and heavy firepower made it an invaluable asset to the Republic, allowing it to travel and fight almost anywhere as necessary. A variant of the BARC speeder, this unit was used in the movie most notably during the battle for Kashyyyk. Piloted by two Clone troopers, or in this set by a trooper and Barriss Offee, this craft was used to quickly shuttle troops around and provide anti-personnel fire from its dual forward-mounted laser cannons. Though only developed towards the end of the Clone Wars, this light vehicle uniquely served the needs of the Clone army.

There are a few notable things about the set itself. The first of these is that this is the first set since the LEGO 7655 Clone Troopers Battle Pack in 2007 to feature the Phase II Clone Trooper, though the version in this set is slightly redesigned. The preliminary image for this set had the speeder appearing on a desert planet, inaccurate for the Swamp Speeder. There has also been some debate as to whether or not this set actually belongs in the Clone Wars or the Episode III distinction, because of the different faces for some of the characters. This is, however, the only LEGO Star Wars set to this point that contains the Barriss Offee minifigure, and that becomes the main reason for acquiring this limited edition set. The Clone Trooper and the two Battle droids also come with the newer model blasters.

Actual construction of this set is not terribly difficult, with the recommended age ranging from 7 to 12 years old. The instructions are, as with any Lego set, well defined and easy to follow, although the slight differences in grays might cause some of the younger builders some trouble, but should not bother older builders at all. All in all, the 8091 Republic Swamp Speeder makes a perfect addition to any fan's Lego collection.

The LEGO Star Wars 7869 Special Edition Battle for Geonosis set contains the BARC speeder, the Proton Cannon and five LEGO Star Wars minifigures. The minifigures are Clone Trooper Captain Rex, Master Luminara Unduli, 2 Battle Droids and one Super Battle Droid. Released in January 2010 as part of the Clone Wars collection, this is a special edition set.

The BARC speeder is a remake of the speeder included in the 7913 Clone Trooper Battle Pack, the green trimming on that speeder has been replaces with a dark red strip. Otherwise, the two vehicles are identical in every way. The BARC speeder measures 6” (15cm) long and 3” (7cm) wide. Seating only one minifigure, this fast and light vehicle makes the perfect delivery vehicle for a Jedi Master out to save the day. Used widely throughout the battles fought by the Grand Army of Republic, this light vehicle was used by recon scouts and by troopers of all sorts.

The Proton Cannon is unique to this set and features many surprises. The turret features four pose-able legs that allow it to “walk” anywhere it needs to be in order to fire upon Clone forces. This turret requires a droid gunner to function and is not an autonomous droid. The vehicle also contains a missile launcher, which can be fired by a lever for more realistic play. The design is different from the Proton Cannon featured in the LEGO Star Wars III and measuring 9” (22cm) long and 7” (17cm) wide, its no small turret either.

Dressed in the Clone Wars style, this is only the second time that Master Luminar Unduli has appeared as a minifigure in a set. The other set that she appeared in was the LEGO 7260 Wookiee Catamaran set in 2005, and in that set she had a fixed lightsaber that lit up when you pushed her head down. This version of Luminar, however, does not have the fixed lightsaber and is just a regular minifigure. The figure does have two faces on the head, one regular with eyes and the other with goggles.

Captain Rex is also making his second appearance in a LEGO set, the first appearing in the 7675 AT-TE Walker that was released in 2008 (not counting the Comic-Con Exclusive Clone Wars set). Rex features a special helmet, his signature armor trim and blue color, as well as his ammo packs, which hang at his sides and do not impede the minifigures’ movement much. The Super Battle droid is also special, containing the missile launcher arm that first appeared in the 8018 Armored Assault Tank (AAT), which was released in 2009. The Battle Droids are just regular battle droids, but they do come with the newer model blasters.

Construction of this set is recommended for ages 8 to 14, because of the complex parts used for the Proton Cannon. This makes it a bit difficult of a build for younger builders, but a good challenge for older builders. All of this makes this special edition Clone Wars set a great pick for any avid fan of the LEGO Star Wars series.

The LEGO 7915 V-Wing starfighter set is one of the most recent LEGO releases and it hit the market in January 2011. The set is part of the Star Wars Clone Wars series of products, and has 139 pieces. Using the pieces included in the set you can build an Imperial V-Wing starfighter spaceship and fly it using the Imperial pilot and Astromech droid LEGO Star Wars mini figures included in the pack. When finished, the model measures 9 inches long by 5 inches wide, and has both a working cockpit and wings which can rotate. The set is pitched at children aged from around 7 to 12, and younger children will be able to assemble the kit easily with assistance from an older sibling or adult.

The main appeal of the V-Wing starfighter is that using this kit, Clone War battles can be recreated using the starfighter and the Republic Lego sets which are also available from LEGO. Both of the LEGO minifigures show amazing attention to detail, with the pilot having a removable helmet and carrying a black pistol. These figures can of course be used in any of the other LEGO models too. The best feature of the fighter is that the wings can be flipped up when the ship goes into attack mode, and then moved back down again for landing. The windshield featured in the ship was newly invented for the set and allows you to flip it up and place the pilot inside. The V-Wing has a very strong Imperial look in shades of white, grey and black and makes the perfect set to fight with your Republic ships. It is also very similar in appearance to the ships in the movies. The only negative point about the V-Wing set is that although the starfighter is designed to be flown by the pilot and the Astromech droid, there is no space on the ship for the droid and in order to put it in the correct place, the body and head must be separated. Only the head portion fits onto the model.

In the movies, the V-Wing only makes a very brief appearance at the end of the third movie of the series (Revenge of the Sith) in scenes featuring Darth Vader. The ship underwent further development before it reappeared as a TIE fighter in the original three Star Wars movies. The TIE and V-Wing starfighters are quick and nimble, and their expert pilots use them in raids against enemy bases and ships.

LEGO released the AT-AP Pod Walker 7671 set in January 2008. This set has 392 pieces and includes a Star Wars AT-AP walker and two shock trooper minifigures. The LEGO Star Wars AT-AP walker can hold three shock troopers, but you'll have to get one somewhere else if you want to use all three, because this set only has two. The only other LEGO set that has a shock trooper minifigure is the Clone Troopers Battle Pack, which includes one shock trooper, two clone troopers, one Star Corps trooper, a speeder bike, and a turret.

The pod walker included in the Star Wars AT-AP Pod Walker 7671 LEGO set has a retractable stabilizer leg. The side doors and roof open up to allow the shock troopers to enter the cockpit. You can also raise or rotate the blaster cannon that is mounted on top of the walker. The LEGO 7671 AT-AP pod walker is more than 8" tall and 6" wide. The AT-AP (all terrain attack pod) was a three-footed pod walker that appeared around the end of the Clone Wars. The unit actually used two feet to walk and had a third foot to stabilize it during battle. The third leg was needed when the unit fired its main gun. It also helped the AT-AP walker navigate over rough terrain.

The Star Wars AT-AP walker was used to shell enemy positions and transport heavy artillery. It had advanced systems for targeting, which is why it was given the nickname of "sniper tank." It was also called a pod attack walker (PAW). One of the units that used the AT-AP pod walker was the 96th Regiment.

In spite of its armor, the AT-AP pod walker needed to be accompanied by tanks during battle. It was not a strong enough unit to use alone in an attack. There were also some AT-APs made for use in the Galactic Civil War. These pod walkers were manufactured in old abandoned factories. Some of them fell into the hands of Rebels, pirates, and other groups, including the Zann Consortium and the Hutt Cartel, who put them up for sale at the Hutt palaces.

The Freeco speeder is also know as a CK-6 Swoop. These ships were used by the Republic on cold, icy planets during the Clone Wars. The nickname "Freeco" is a contraction for "freezing cold." The Feeco speeder could be operated even in the most blinding blizzards. Unfortunately, even though Freeco speeders were great for getting around in since they hovered over the ground, they needed a lot of maintenance to keep from breaking down due to the cold weather.

The LEGO 8085 Freeco Speeder set contains the pieces needed to create a LEGO Freeco speeder. It has 177 pieces and comes with a sticker sheet. The stickers can be used to make it look like the Clone Wars speeder. There is a compartment behind the windshield where you can store Anakin's lightsaber. Two LEGO minifigures are also included. They are Anakin Skywalker and Thi-Sen.

The Anakin Skywalker minifigure included in the LEGO Star Wars Freeco speeder set is wearing a dark blue parka with a fur-edged hood. Anakin has white hands and light gray legs. Thi-Sen was Chieftan of the Talz tribe on the planet Orto Plutonia. After his tribe was attacked by the Separatists, he launched a counterattack against both the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The Jedi then met with Thi-Sen and attempted to come to a peaceful agreement. However, Chairman Chi Cho stirred up more trouble, resulting in a battle in which he was killed. After he died, Senator Chuchi agreed to withdraw from Plutonia and leave the planet to the Talz people.

The Thi-Sen minifigure is light gray with a darker gray hands, cape, spines, and face. His head, face, cape, and spines are all one piece. He carries a spear. The Freeco speeder LEGO set is the only set this minifigure has appeared in.

The ARC-170 fighter was used by the Republic Army during the Clone Wars. The ship's crew normally consisted of a clone pilot, two gunners, and one Astromech droid. The LEGO ARC-170 Starfigher has S-foil wings and two flick-fire missiles that can be launched using a rod on the back of the ship. Turning the rod makes the wing sections appear to open. The LEGO Star Wars starfighter also has three cockpits that open. The ship is mostly white with some red, and the set contains a total of 396 pieces.

The LEGO 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter set includes four minifigures. They are Kit Fisto, Captain Jag, a clone pilot, and an R4-P44 Astromech droid. The droid is white with a green head and green, gray, and black markings on the body. The R4-P44 droid is exclusive to the LEGO 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter set.

Kit Fisto was a member of the Jedi High Council during the Clone Wars. He was killed toward the end of the war while attempting to arrest Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. The Kit Fisto minifigure is one of only two LEGO Star Wars minifigures with a molded rubber head. Kit Fisto's head and tentacles are green, as are his hands. The two minifigures are very similar in appearance, but Captain Jag has a white helmet with blue and black markings on it, and the other clone pilot's helmet has less detail and has black markings only. Both clone pilots have blue-gray arms and legs with white hands and torsos. Their torsos are printed with gray belts and air hoses for their masks. Both Star Wars clone pilot minifigures have flesh-colored faces.

The LEGO 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter set is very similar to the 7259 ARC-170 Starfighter set that came out in 2005. The minifigures included in the two sets are not the same though. The first LEGO ARC-170 set contained an R4-D5 Astromech droid instead of the R4-P44 droid, and there were three clone pilots. Shahan Alama was one of the mercenaries who helped Cad Bane when he raided the Galactic Senate to take hostages in order to free Ziro the Hutt, who was a Republic prisoner. The Star Wars LEGO minifigure of Shahan Alama has blue legs, a blue left arm, and a gold-colored right arm. He wears a red hat and comes with one weapon, a blaster. The LEGO Shahan Alama minifigure was released in 2010 in the 8128 LEGO Cad Bane's Speeder set.

Cad Bane's Speeder is a LEGO Star Wars set that includes a speeder and five LEGO minifigures. The LEGO mini figures included in this set are Cad Bane, Shahan Alama, a Senate Commando, a Senate Commando captain, and an elite assassin droid. The speeder is mostly gray with blue accents. It has a storage compartment in the back that opens up and there are two flick-fire missiles that double as the speeder's headlights. The last minifigure included in the Cad Bane's Speeder set is the elite assassin droid, which also appears in two other sets: the 8015 Assassin Droids Battle Pack and the 66341 Star Wars 3 in 1 Superpack, which included the entire Assassin Droids Battle Pack as well as two other sets. The Assassin Droids set came with a small speeder and five LEGO Star wars figures: three assassin droids and two elite assassin droids.

The other Star Wars LEGO set that comes with the Star Wars Plo Koon minifigure is Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter set. This is a much smaller set, with only 175 pieces. The starfighter in this set is a replica of the Blade of Dorin, which Jedi Plo Koon received as a gift from Anakin Skywalker. It has an ejection seat to allow for a quick escape. In addition to the LEGO Plo Koon minifigure, an R7-F5 LEGO Astromech droid minifigure is also included in this set.

Plo Koon was a Jedi master and a member of the Jedi High Council. He was a general in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. His best friends were Qui-Gon Jinn, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Micah Giiett, and Saesee Tiin. He was killed by clone troopers, who shot him down over Cato Neimoidia as directed by Order 66. This order was responsible for the deaths of almost all of the Jedis.

Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter 8093 is easy to build and is suitable for children 7 years old and over. The Jedi starfighter is an attractive design that is very true to the look of the starfighter flown by Plo Koon during the Clone Wars. The main colors of the ship are blue and white, with a smoky-colored cover over the cockpit. The nose is not as pointy as the Blade of Dorin's, but overall it is a fairly accurate reproduction. Plo Koon's Jedi starfighter has an ejection seat that really works. When you activate the ejection seat, the minifigure is thrown from the starfighter.

The starfighter comes with stickers that you can apply to the screen and keypad in the cockpit, and the guns and emblem on the exterior of the ship are very accurately portrayed. The landing gear is strong, and there is room inside the ship for both of the minifigures that are included in the set. There is a clip on the top of the starfighter to attach the lightsaber, but it looks kind of strange there.

The minifigures in this set are very detailed. Plo Koon has an orange head with gray mask and goggles. He is dressed in brown and holding a blue lightsaber. The R7-D4 droid has a brown body with black and white details, white legs, and a white head with mostly brown details. Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter 8093 set is the only Star Wars LEGO set that includes the R7-D4 astromech droid. Plo Koon is also a rare minifigure. He was only sold in one other LEGO Star Wars set.

If you collect Star Wars toys, you'll definitely want to get your hands on this set with its two rare LEGO minifigures. For those who like to play with their LEGO sets, the Jedi starfighter lacks the interactivity of other LEGO toys, with only one working feature--the ejection seat. It would be much better if there were working missiles or other weapons. However, the characters and ship are still fun to play with, and most kids who love Star Wars will love this LEGO set as well.

With this LEGO set, you can pretend you are Cad Bane, the bounty hunter from Duro who was hired to free Ziro the Hutt from the Republic Judiciary Central Detention Center. In order to free the Hutt, Bane decides to take the entire Senate hostage and demand his release. Cad Bane's Speeder 8128 LEGO set consists of Cad Bane's speeder and five minifigures: Cad Bane, the mercenary Shahan Alama, a Senate Commando, a Senate Commando officer, and an elite assassin droid.

The best part of Cad Bane's Speeder 8128 set is the LEGO minifigures, and the Star Wars Bane minifigure is by far the most popular. The blue-faced character wears a big, brown hat and has breathing tubes on his face. He carries a weapon in each hand and has gray legs. The Senate Commandos are also well-loved by fans. These Star Wars minifigs are blue with black features and weapons. The officer has some white markings on his face and chest. The Shahan Alama minifigure is very detailed, but the elite assassin droid could have been designed better.

Although the minifigs are the most sought after Star Wars toys in this set, the speeder is cool and is a lot of fun to play with. The ship is equipped with missiles in the front that can be fired with a trigger mechanism on the underside. There is a hatch in the back that is large enough to store the weapons. Up to six minifigures can be seated in the ship, but you may need to modify it a little to fit the elite assassin droid into the passenger area.

The biggest complaint about this set is that some people have had problems with the speeder falling apart while playing with it. You may need to add a few well-placed bricks on the bottom of the ship to prevent this. However, it is not enough of a problem to prevent satisfied customers from recommending this set of Star Wars Clone toys.
