Yoda is one of the most beloved Star Wars characters, so if you're going to try to recreate scenes from the Star Wars movies with LEGO blocks, you have to have at least one LEGO Yoda minifigure. LEGO Yoda has been released in two different minifigure variations as well as pens, keychains, and even a magnet. If you're a collector, you'll one want one of each.
The first LEGO Yoda figure had a green head and hands, and the body was brown and tan to represent his clothing. He wore a brown shirt under his mostly tan clothing and a brown belt around his waist. He appears to be wearing some sort of necklace. This Yoda minifigure first appeared in the LEGO Star Wars 7103 Jedi Duel set. In this set, he had a green lightsaber with a chrome hilt. The second LEGO Yoda appearance was in the 4502 X-Wing Fighter set. In this set, Yoda carried a green lightsaber with a brown bar piece. The last Star Wars LEGO set that included the first variation of the LEGO Yoda minifig was the 7260 Wookiee Catamaran set. In the Catamaran LEGO set, Yoda came with a walking stick instead of a lightsaber.
The second version of the LEGO Yoda figure was released in 2009 in the 8018 Armored Assault Tank LEGO set. This variation has larger ears and the head has a rubbery feel to it. More of Yoda's inner tunic is showing, and the tunic is printed in two shades of brown instead of just one. There is also a little bit of Yoda's neck showing above the tunic. This variation of the LEGO Yoda minifig is not wearing a belt. His eyes are printed in black and white, unlike the eyes in the first version, which are just green. The Yoda minifig included in the Armored Assault Tank set had a lightsaber with a green blade and a silver chrome hilt. This version of Yoda is expected to make an appearance in the 7964 Republic Frigate set that is scheduled to be released sometime this year.
The 3804 Yoda Pen and the P2156 Yoda Connect & Build Pen are actually both the same pen, but with different names and packaging. The 3804 version was an Amazon.com exclusive. The Yoda pen contained the original version of the LEGO Yoda minifigure.
LEGO Yoda appeared as a keychain as well. The 3947 and 4224471 keychains appear to be identical. Both feature the original variation of Yoda attached to a silver-colored chain and keyring. The 4274291 Yoda Keyring also features the original Yoda minifigure, but the keyring is oval in shape with no chain, and there are gray, black, and yellow shapes on the keychain in addition to the minifigure. The 852550 CW Yoda Keychain has a round silver-colored keyring and chain attached to the second variation of the LEGO Yoda figure.
The K10131 Battle of Yavin collection contains three Star Wars LEGO sets, including the 4502 X-Wing Fighter set, which has an original Yoda minifigure. The collection also contains the 4505 Millenium Falcon set and the 10131 TIE collection. There are a total of 12 LEGO minifigures in the Battle of Yavin collection. They are: C-3PO, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, a droid brain, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, R2-D2, a Snowtrooper, Yoda, and two TIE pilots. This collection will provide you with a great assortment of minifigures to play with if you don't yet have any other Star Wars LEGO sets.
