Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter 8093 is easy to build and is suitable for children 7 years old and over. The Jedi starfighter is an attractive design that is very true to the look of the starfighter flown by Plo Koon during the Clone Wars. The main colors of the ship are blue and white, with a smoky-colored cover over the cockpit. The nose is not as pointy as the Blade of Dorin's, but overall it is a fairly accurate reproduction. Plo Koon's Jedi starfighter has an ejection seat that really works. When you activate the ejection seat, the minifigure is thrown from the starfighter.
The starfighter comes with stickers that you can apply to the screen and keypad in the cockpit, and the guns and emblem on the exterior of the ship are very accurately portrayed. The landing gear is strong, and there is room inside the ship for both of the minifigures that are included in the set. There is a clip on the top of the starfighter to attach the lightsaber, but it looks kind of strange there.
The minifigures in this set are very detailed. Plo Koon has an orange head with gray mask and goggles. He is dressed in brown and holding a blue lightsaber. The R7-D4 droid has a brown body with black and white details, white legs, and a white head with mostly brown details. Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter 8093 set is the only Star Wars LEGO set that includes the R7-D4 astromech droid. Plo Koon is also a rare minifigure. He was only sold in one other LEGO Star Wars set.
If you collect Star Wars toys, you'll definitely want to get your hands on this set with its two rare LEGO minifigures. For those who like to play with their LEGO sets, the Jedi starfighter lacks the interactivity of other LEGO toys, with only one working feature--the ejection seat. It would be much better if there were working missiles or other weapons. However, the characters and ship are still fun to play with, and most kids who love Star Wars will love this LEGO set as well.
