LEGO Imperial Flagship

The LEGO Imperial Flagship is avaiable now and a must for any collector or builder, recommended for ages 14 and up. It's a big model, measuring 29.5 inches (75 cm) long and 23.6 inches (60 cm) tall, with a mast and rigging, and about 1,664 pieces total. The sails are simply white, striped with red. The ship itself is dark brown, with white windows, and the vivid blue trim for the cannon windows look nice on the dark background.

From its saw shark figurehead to its working rudder, the Imperial Flagship has plenty of details, figures, and accessories sure to delight every LEGO die hard. Many of the parts move and work, such as the anchor and the rudder. The captain's wheel spins as well. Six of the Imperial Flagship's windows open. The front deck has a door that opens to the inside, as does the back house with a door that leads to the captain's chamber. It's easy to take apart in three sections, and by removing the upper deck you can easily see the inner compartments.

As always, LEGO provides plenty of accessories. The kitchen comes complete with a carrot, chicken legs, and fish. The huge main hull has four sections that hold four cannons which can poke through the cannon windows. The deck is well-stocked for the hardiest sailors with crates and muskets, and cannonballs. The brig has a rat, ready and waiting for any prisoners. Inside the captain's room, you'll find a map, a bottle, and organ, and a treasure chest stuffed with jewels, of course. Plus every good sailor needs a sextant to find the way and three lanterns to light the night.

The Imperial Flagship comes with mini figures, as do most LEGO collection. You get a total of nine: the captain and his daughter, a prisoner, a cook, a lieutenant, and four soldiers. There's plenty of room to move the figures around every part of this ship.

This is one of the largest ships LEGO has released, and if you have any of the other pirate series models or other ships, the Imperial Flagship surpasses them all. This ship is sure to gain a part in LEGO enthusiasts' permanent LEGO collections.
